Zara Barkhoudarian was born in Yerevan (Armenia). She studied piano lessons from the age of 6 in the Music School of ‘Tchaikovsky’ where she graduated with high distinction.

She continued her studies in the Conservatorium of Yerevan and graduated with high distinction majoring in piano and signing. At the age of 18 she became the soloist of the Armenian State Tele-Radio choir. The choir recited in 15 countries of Europe and won numerous prizes and awards.


Since 1995 Zara has been living in Cyprus and singing in many concerts and events. In 1996, she gave a solo vocal concert in the Town Hall in Lanaca. In 1998, Zara performed with Litsa Koutalari-Ioannou at the Presidential Palace for which the proceeds were donated to the Cyprus Kidney Association. In the same year Zara gave a solo concert accompanied by Juliette Movsessian in the Melkonian Educational Institute donating part of the proceeds to the Melkonian Educational Institite’s Student’s fund. In 2001, another solo concert followed once more accompanied by Julietta Movsessian in the Russian Cultural Center of Nicosia. In 2005 Zara performed at the charity evening organized by the Cyprus Ladies’ Club, donating money to patients suffering with cancer. Other than the solo concerts mentioned above, Zara has performed in over 65 concerts all over Cyprus.

Between 2009 and 2012, she has performed in concerts in Greece including Preveza and Ioannina. In 2014 Zara performed at the 12th International Festival in St. Petersburg (Russia). Also in 2016 she took part in the Kerpenissa Festival in Greece.

Since 1996 Zara has been teaching in the European Conservatory of Music of Litsa Koutalari-Ioannou. From 2005 to 2008 she taught vocal in the University of Nicosia.
