Milos Mijatovic, one of the most interesting clarinetists of the younger generation, was born in (Nis, 1982). Graduated from ’Dr Vojislav Vuckovic’ music high school in Nis in the class of professor Tomislav Nikolic. He graduated clarinet at The Academy of Arts in Novi Sad in the class of professor Nikola Srdic and Alekstandar Tasic. He is currently attending PhD studies at the Faculty of Arts, University of Nis, in the class of professor Ante Grgin.


He mastered his skills at the master courses directed by Yehuda Gilad ( University of Southern California USA), professor Michael Colins (Royal Academy-London, England), Mate Bekavac (Slovenia), Professor Ernesto Molinar( Bern University of Arts, Switzerland) professor Michel Arrignon (Conservatoire Nacional Superier de Musique – Paris, France) professor Robert Spring (Arizona University,USA), Poul Mayer (France) professor Karl Leister (Germany)…


He won first prizes in the international competition in Barletta, Italy 2005 and 2006. Second prize of International Competition Young Musicians, Padova (Italy) 2007. Special prize at the International Chamber music Competition in Subotica, Serbia.


The University in Novi Sad and the Ministry of Culture awarded him an ‘Exceptional Award’ for his artistic activities, and in 2011 he won a scholarship from the Swedish government. He performed as a soloist with Symphony orchestra of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, Novi Sad Chamber orchestra, Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra, and had concerts in Italy, England, Germany, France, Sweden and Serbia.


He performed at some of the most important festivals in Serbia and abroad, such as NOMUS, International Tribune of Composer, Music Festival in Trollheten (Sweden), British Isles Music Festival ( United Kingdom) and IMPULS. International Ensemble and Composer Academy for Contemporary Music (Austria).


In the period between 2001 and 2006, Milos Mijatovic performed as solo clarinetist with Symphony orchestra of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad (Serbia) in numerous famous concert halls with world known conductors such as Kent Nagano, Wolfgang Sawalisch, Valery Gergiev, Claudio Vandelli , Mladen Jagust, Berislav Skenderovic and many others. From 2005 onwards, he was a permanent member of Southeastern Chamber Orchestra at the position of a solo clarinetist. He made recordings for TV and radio stations both in the country and abroad (RTS, RTV, ART TV,).


Milos Mijatovic is member of the ,,No Borders Orchestra'' since 2013 with whom he performed in the country and abroad. Founder clarinet octet, EBONY’’ consisting of all the students of class professor Milos Mijatovic. As a first clarinetist Opera in Nis greatly contributed to the establishment of the opera after 50 years with which he performed dozens of times. A member of the ensemble for contemporary music, STUDIO 6'' which premiered in the work SONGS OF WARS I HAVE SEEN (2007) by Heiner Goebbels with words by Gertrude Stein. Working part-time at the Symphony Orchestra of the City of Nis on the position of the first clarinet.


Milos Mijatovic is a regular member of International Clarinet Association USA and European Clarinet Association. Since 2007 he has worked as an assistant to the professor Ante Grgin. In 2017 he became Associate professor of clarinet at Faculty of Arts, University of Nis, Serbia. Professor Milos Mijatovic is a Royal Global, Silverstein Works and D’Addario Artist, and interprets on the Royal ‘’Soloist’’ clarinet model, the Silverstein Estro Ligature and D’Addario Reserve Classic reeds.
