IRENA ZARIC finished the Music School S.Mokranjac in Belgrade with professor Mirjana Vlaovic and completed the Master in the Department for Solo Singing of the University of Music at Belgrade under Professor Emeritus Biserka Cvejic.

Winner in 1982 of the First Prize in Yugoslavia Singing Competition, she also received the followings awards.

1985- “Danila Mastilovic ” as the best student in the Department for Solo Singing.

1986-Second Grand Prize at the l 32 nd International Competition of Opera Singing in Toulouse, France.

1987-The “ October Award “ of the City of Belgrade as one of the most successful students.

Irena Zaric made her debut, as ROSINA ( Rossini’s IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA ) and as CARMEN( CARMEN -BIZZET)at the Belgrade Opera where since 1986 she has been permanent solist …The role of CARMEN is the role which she use to sing the most all over the world.

Permanent guest artist of the Croatian Theater in Zagreb she started her International career in 1988 singing at Kiev in Soviet Union the role of FENENA ( VERDI’S NABUCCO) .

She patrtecipated in Opera and Concerts at Theaters in major cities includind ZURICH, PARIS, NICE, LIEGI, BILBAO,SAN SEBASTIAN, PALMA DE MALLORCA,TENERIFE, CARRACAS, MONTREAL, SAN GALLEN, BONN, ITALY, NEW YORK, FLORIDA, BALTIMORE, PITTSBURGH, CONNECTICUT, PRAGA, BRATISLAVA, RUSSIA, AUSTRALIA,, ISTAMBUL ECC.

In December 1994 she made her U.S.A debut in Palm Beach Opera Theater as Carmen in Bizet’s opera with Maestro Anton Guadagno . she appeared as Siebel in Gounod’s FAUST at the Steadt Theater in St. Gallen ( Switzerland) , as Maddalena (RIGOLETTO) in Genoa summer Festival and as Lola ( CAVALLERIA RUSTICANA ) e Bersi (ANDREA CHENIER) in Pittsburgh and Baltimore, as Beppe (AMICO FRITZ) in Recco summer Festival, Cosi fan tutte in Opera Teather of Bilbao, San Sebastian,

Carmen (CARMEN) in Belgrade, Bonn(Germany), Opera-Teather of Sulmona, Opera Theater Teresa Careno a Carracas, with tenor Luis Lima inTeatre Principal Palma de Mallorca...

She appeared also in a concert celebrating Beniamino Gigli in Stanford ( Connecticut ) and in a Gala Concert at the Opera of Montreal in December 1988, and also Benefit Concert in NEW York whit Metropolitan Opera stars. She sang a concert with tenor Alain Vanzo in Paris... Recently performed concert in Bratislava and Prague, Zurich, Italy... Opera Carmen in Theater in Istanbul, concerts in Australia etc…

She had opportunity to work on specialize of vocal technique in USA and Italy with the greatest tenor ever Franco Corelli. Soprano Renata Scotto, Soprano Licia Albanese, Soprano Marianna Cristos.

She developed during these years of career following repertoire;.
