Jantus Philaretou is a South African/Cypriot. He was born and raised in South Africa and moved to Cyprus with his family at the age of 15. At the age of 17 he started his vocal studies at Michalis Chrysanthou’s, music school: ”New music school and recording studio” in Nicosia, Strovolos.


In 2008 he worked in his first musical in Cyprus as ensemble, “The producers” under the company of Rea ioannidou.


After completing his military service in 2012, Jantus left Cyprus in 2012 and started studying Musical theatre in Vienna. He completed his Bachelor in Musical theatre and master studies in Classical operettas at the Musik und Kunst(Music and Arts) private Conservatory/ university Vienna in 2016.

He remained in Vienna and worked in different productions and concerts till he decided to move back to Cyprus in the beginning of 2019.

Jantus Has also been teaching Musical Theater since September 2017 and he is now the head of the Musical department in the Future academy of Arts private conservatory in Archangelou Nicosia.
