Violin
Born in Nicosia, Cyprus, in 1982, Giorgos Hadjigeorgiou began his violin studies
at the European Music School of Cyprus with Kypros Christodoulides and
Varvara Plousiou. He joined the Cyprus State Youth Orchestra in 1993 and later
earned the ABRSM Diploma in Violin Performance and Theory of Music in 1999.
He continued his studies at the Pancho Vladigerov National Music Academy of
Sofia, earning both a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Violin Performance with
excellent mark. In 2006, he represented Cyprus in the Mediterranean Youth
Orchestra. Further training with Wolfgang Schroeder, leader of the Cyprus
Symphony Orchestra, enriched his expertise.
Hadjigeorgiou performs regularly with the Trakart orchestra, Commandaria
Orchestra and the Municipal String Quartet. As an educator, he teaches violin at
the Municipal School of Music, Public Music School of Limassol, and the Music
Talent Development Program, while also maintaining an active freelance
performance career
